they were not ordered as holiday gifts but yesterday in the mail I got:

4 Panaracer Pasela TG tires, a Sugino chainring, and some bartape. the day before I got a beautiful black and silver stronglight chainring and some nice wool socks from defete.

so far my only 'real' gift was a nice set of Martini glasses a friend gave me.

Brooks B-17 in Honey with a matching set of handlerbar wraps.
Perfect lemon yellow powdercoat job for my Cannondale ST project bike, done by 'the expensive guy' as my wife calls him.

BG, you mentioned that you got that Tempo I bought from you with a big bottle of Bombay Sapphire. Now it's martini glasses. Do we see a trend here?

BTW, my personal martini gin favorite is Baffert's. The China White of smooth gin.

83 Trek 620 in perfect shape
Saris Thelma 2 hitch rack
Green Brooks B17 for Trek with matching tape.
Campy brake levers and gum hoods for campy brakes on said bike. Plus some suntour bar end shifters.
And a beautiful 100% cashmere blazer, matching trousers, shirt, and two nice ties.
Happiest moments were seeing my 3 year old get his first bike and set of golf clubs amongst umpteen million other toys.

finally broke down and asked for bike riding clothes. I been riding for 30 years in whatever I had, including a carhart coat every winter.
I got a skull cap so my helmet will finally fit this winter, a real cycling jersey and a bunch of sock guy cycling socks.

I already feel faster

I got a pair of bicycle-print boxer shorts from Mrs. Straightblock. Plus I'm waiting for a Gary Fisher mountain bike frame (eBay purchase, fairly modern, with rear suspension) to arrive next week, a self-indulgence to help round out the quiver.

Nothing for myself, but my son got new tires and some other small parts for his 24" Raleigh restoration.
He doesn't know it yet but he's getting a 48cm Trek 600 for next year or whenever he's big enough to ride it. I'm jealous, I'm 40 & have never had a full 531 frame yet. Looks like it will need a standard rebuild (lube/cables/tires), but we've got some time to get it ready. Should be here end of next week.

Santa brought me some 9 speed STI shifters. Long sleeve bike jersey w 3 pockets on the back. Mrs. tmh got me an addition to my Craftsman tool chest and that was unexpected.
The Mrs won't be reporting here but she got cycling shorts, gloves and socks. Those items will make her faster, (I hope).

$200 in Performance Bike gift cards, $100 in REI. The traditional gift from the sister-in-law: A bottle of rather expensive tawny port and a few packs of very good cigars. Getting back in touch with my old training partner from 38 years ago.

Added another decade to the collection. Along with my 1960s Raleigh DL-1, 1970s Schwinn Varsity, 1980s Raleigh Marathon, 1990s Nishiki Sport XLS I now have a 2000s Schwinn Cutter single speed. I know I'm adding at the wrong end of the scale for this subforum, but then again, this was a total surprise Christmas gift

At least it has a vintage Schwinn logo on the seat tube.

Doohickie - very nice addition!

Plus one here on the surprise bicycle gift. I got a frame that I just did not expect to get! It fits into the classic category rather than vintage, but I don't want to reveal it just yet : ) I can't afford to build it up, but that's another story!

Swap out the crankset and the brake calipers before anything else. Should be good to go from there.

The stock sidepulls on the Cutter are pretty poor, if I recall right. I don't remember what exactly was my beef with them, but I seem to remember some noticeable play in the bushings, along with poor self-centering.

As for the crankset, it's swaged. Even though I've seen very few of them come apart, I simply don't trust swaged cranksets to hold up under repeated use, as a rule.

I've been slowly building my tool collection. Got my first pin spanner and a park multi-tool for emergency purposes as presents.

This means I have to find the versions of these tools i've borrowed and return them......

My dad dropped of an old skiptooth Hawthorne this morning that he picked up somewhere for $10. It's pretty rough but complete other than headlight, and it'll give me a nice project once I get my current project done. Other than that I got a microwave to cook hotpockets in every morning to give me the energy to ride(I don't know if that counts...)

Nothing in the bike realm. I bought myself a frame on eBay, and I think it's in limbo. The vibes are not good.
