Geez, the decals haven't fallen off yet.

Must have never seen a bump in the road, that's about all it takes, I swear...

Very nice bike.

Amen to that! I remember my old Pinarellos' decals were susceptible to the force of gravity!

Anyone else seeing anything worrisome about dropping $900 for this bike in this picture (original picture magnified and lightened up to show some more detail ) ?

It's pretty, but looking at the wear on the paint and components I can't see how it's worth the asking price..... Seems quite overpriced IMHO

I really don't see what's wrong with the bike. Paint and decals are above average , crankset appears to be scratch free, brake hoods appear original and intact as does the seat post.

How do you figure that? Take another look at the shot of the seat tube and top tube. Also, The head set and front derailleur have some serious pitting, unless it's just my monitor. Those chainrings show some wear too...

$900 is absolutely too high..... No way that thing would fetch more than $500 here in Denver, as it sits anyways. The sad truth is probably that it's worth more parted out from a monetary/flip point of view. A lot of guys would love to have the panto'd parts. I'm guessing it's a flip from the p*ss-poor cleaning job somebody did. It's very pretty, but very overpriced for a filthy bike with numerous paint chips. But, to each his own.....

I would want to repaint that beauty if she were mine......The paint has numerous chips in the top tube and seat tube and I'm surprised the seller didn't feel it was necessary to clean the bike up for nearly a grand.....

which was my point about posting that shot. Look at the gears this person is running, the tension of the chain and the stretch of the RD. While not 100% criss-cross, pretty darn close. You just do not use a 53 with your second biggest rear cog, unless you want things to break or wear down. That's what the 39 up front is for.

I am with mainducoyote, the pantographed parts look original and barely used. I wouldn't put too much emphasis on what gear it was left at the end of a ride. I have slight bump and a twisty yard before I park my bike, and I often downshift when I get there.

It's on the third largest rear cog, and the only thing that isn't too good in that shot (besides the .jpg artifacts) is the disgusting tread of the Conti Gatorskins.

other than the chain maybe being a bit short, the bike being a bit dirty, and yes those awful tires! where ahve all the good skinwalls gone! it does seem a bit pricy

can you put a 39T on that crank? isn't a 40T the smallest?

The chain is not too short. If it were, the upper jockey wheel would hit the larger cogs from the side as it rotates upwards. Lengthening the chain would make it drag in the 42-14.

If the bike was cleaned up and polished it'd look nice. The paint appears to have alot of luster but that luster is under a layer of dust. Pantographed SR crankset, pantograped seatpost, pantographed shift levers. SR calipers and hubs.

It would easily get $900 on Ebay. Easily.

+1 This is a very nice bike folks. Easily better condition than the two I've enjoyed, and I received $700 plus on both of mine in a spring market. For real.

Doesn't seem ridiculously overpriced to me, either.

From a buyer's standpoint, sure it'd be nice to find this for $400, but a major metro area CL is not a very good place to look for such a deal. It may take several months of finger-on-the-trigger searching the entire NE US on crazedlist to find such a deal. Or, since the ad doesn't say "Firm", you could see if you could walk away with this today for $750. Maybe see if the seller would like to keep the saddle and knock it down to $700 even.

From the seller's standpoint, this seems like a good asking price if you're in no hurry and don't mind waiting a couple, maybe three weeks to find your buyer. If you want cash in hand today, might wanna try $600

With all due respect, some of the pricing comments I've been seeing lately are outright silly. This looks fantastic and it would part out for MUCH more than this. A STANDARD SR group parts out for around 600 in my experience. There is a huge difference between you can't afford it and it's not worth it. Most of you saying it's over priced wouldn't accept under $1,000 were you selling it.

The thing is panto'd...anyone ever tried buying panto'd parts? I don't know what would make someone say this is overpriced, but just because you didn't get it for free in a dumpster or a steal at a flea market doesn't make the pricing unfair. I feel fairly confident that I could buy this and make a profit. Actually...pretty much ANY decent condition Italian columbus frame with top end campy parts would sell for this asking price...WITHOUT panto.

In fact I'm going to take a look tomorrow and might buy as a keeper...it's GORGEOUS, it's priced reasonably (I'm sure I'll talk him down) and I've wanted panto'd parts.

To my untrained eye, this bike looks beautiful...worn, perhaps, in spots, but, that what makes a bike a bike...good luck tomorrow KonAaron Snake...hope she's worthy and you snag her...(at a reduced price to boot...

Thanks Johnny...I'll let you know how it goes. This would look AWFULLY nice in my fleet, but it would also mean something else had to go. I'm reaching space saturation.
