Finished the project... So far.
Hey everyone,
A little while back before BF changed over to the new forums I created a post about my Old LeTour that I sold to my best friend who had his bike stolen last year.
I had this Letour that just needed TLC and somebody much taller than me at 5'9" to ride it. My friend being bikeless and 6'3" seemed to be a natural fit. The bike did have some issues like Old steel wheels that were slightly bent, crappy old brake levers that were way out of tune, and some use on the components.
He did need a few parts before he felt comfortable riding it or safe. So here is his new 73 Schwinn Le Tour w/ new wheels, Cassette, Brake levers, Tires, griptape, seatpost/seat, and I am sure a few other small things I am forgetting.

Looks pretty good, but I have to say that I'm more of a fan of the period-correct levers, instead of the more aero hoods. There's something charming about having the cables go all over the place on an old bike. But hey, for a all around commuter/rider/etc, you definitely went the route that probably makes a lot more sense
