If not, someone is gonna have a shot at a very, very nice Merckx.

Especially when I get her straightened away.

Simply too big for me.

hey gomango, cant pm yet so here it is kvnmuadib@aol.com ....yes your attachment resurrected my pic to full size...I am lucky to have gotten the merckx frame pretty reasonably, I guess the slight pitting on the fork and a little bit more chrome loss on one inner seat stay kept the bidding low..who knows? more than made up for the nice pearl white with a minimum of touch ups ...and to have a derosa from the same era is pretty lucky as well... major differences are the diamonte chainstays and a little more slender seat stays and the fork crown is a chrome semi sloping with derosa engraved vertuically at a slight angle if you have seen that variation though its not that common...I look forward to the pointers and thanks for the compliment

Thanks. The rims are made by Ambrosio for Merckx. And I made a mistake in previous post. It is Merckx Leader 25th anniversary edition not 20th

Wow! I'm really diggin' this! Beautiful groupset with the DT shifters. Proper classic! The bartape is like a freshly drafted beer... Like the Buckler team used to have.

I just picked this up this Merckx elite. I was looking for a grouppo to build a cannondale as a winter bike, and managed this bike instead. 2000-2002 (not sure), full ultegra with shimano rims (will be putting my HED ardennes cl on shortly, as well as a longer thomson stem. Does anyone have any info on these aluminum framed Merckx's. Took her for a spin today, smooth and nimble.....I like.

Corsa, SL tubing around '92 I think. 8 speed Dura Ace drivetrain and not really finished, The wheels don't match. 600 front hub with Mavic blue tinted rim, 105 rear hub-Open pro. but it still looks pretty good, IMO. Rides great but now I want one of the REALLY nice Merckxs.

Yep, pretty as a picture.

Wish the Corsa I have here fit me better.

Bought it for my brother, but it was too small for him.

A little too large for me.

Oh well.

Sad part is, I really enjoy riding Corsas.

Great for all day rides.

Horrible picture, but I picked this up a couple weeks back. (one rainy ride and the tire and tape got SOO dirty)

Already been through a couple iterations here's a link to an album of pictures taken during my time with it.

85 Merckx Pro

Before (the paint was actually much worse than it appears in this pic):

After (it was super bright this morning so the pics are not that great):

Heh Jake!

Love it!

That black is just the ticket. Hard to make black look great in full sun, but you pulled it off.

Bet she rides great.

I'd love to try a 753 out sometime.

Is she a Corsa or?

Build specs when ready kind sir.

Good for you rescuing a beautiful bike. Looks like they did a great job on the paint. Did they have to replace one of the cable guides on the top tube? Looks like only 2 in the before photo and three in the after.

Good eye, it was indeed missing a cable guide. A local builder brazed a new one on and I did the paint myself.
