ca. 1982 Professional.

Rims are a decade younger, but the color match is quite good, so I'm not gonna change them out. I picked up the panto stem in Berlin last summer - Robert Schmidt of VeloCiao found it and held it for me. Jon Williams of Drillium Revival added the top flutes, and took care of a gouge on the side. Not a huge fan of the EM panto chainrings, so had JW mill me some flutes in the rings for Belgian tricolor. The grips are VO sew-on elkhide. Bars were a parting gift from DD before he shipped out to DG.

Alex, that is a unique beauty! Very nice details, I know how my Professional rides, so I know you are enjoying this!

Jiangshi, thanks for the enlargement!

Thanks Broid - your machine is quite a looker, too.

I believe I will put quite a few miles on this bike, this summer - won't ride it this time of year in the PNW. Have a few fender bikes and MTBs for winter.

~'73 Falcon Molteni. 531 w/long-point lugs and Campy dropouts, but still a touch crude. All original 1st gen Dura-Ace (Crane), w/ Superbe (Sunshine) / Super Champ wheels, Cinelli cockpit, Brooks saddle.

(photo is at purchase...looks a bit better now.)

First up is this Eddy Merckx Century in TSX. Got it as a frame and the top tube had been replaced some years ago by ed Litton and repainted, so it was sent off to Al Wanta who did a respray in the original Cobalto. Group is 10 speed Ultegra 6600 with a Sugino RD series compact triple crankset (50/36/24), wheels are Shimano hubs with Velocity A23's and 700C X 25 gumwall Vittoria Corsa SC's:

Next up is this very nice Eddy Merckx 753. Seller said it was a Professional, but could be a Grand Prix- if anyone can tell me how to tell the difference other than a serial number, I'd like to know. It had also been previously repainted, so another Wanta respray, this one in Ford Titanium gray metallic. Really like the detail work Al did on the decals. Groupset is Dura Ace 7700 9 speed with a compact Sugino 50/34 crank, wheels are Cane Creek Volos XL's with Gatorskins. This one will be used for fast club rides, hence the Civia Emerson shallow drop bars:

1974 Eddy Merckx Reynolds 531 Giro d' Italia

Here's my 1974 Molteni Eddy Merckx. Falcon made but it's the higher 104 Giro d'Italia model with Reynolds 531 tubing and nice prugnat lugs. It's a great ride - and it would be better had the original owner not stripped it of all it's campy NR. If anyone has a NR groupset for sale, let me know.

^^Every time I see a picture of Pokey, I regret selling it to Robbietunes.

When it lived in The Lab:

What a brilliant bike! You can be my wingman anytime

Your classic bar/stem combo looks great. My 'ergo' shaped bar took a lot of getting used to, but still is not as comfy that good'oll Cinelli Giro or Campione del Monde.

Just picked this one up!

I just threw some platforms I had laying around on it until I can find the right pedals for it. Also need to put on a longer chain and hopefully a find a white saddle!

It has shimano 600 7 speed with indexing shifters, the guy had no idea what year it was, do you all have any ideas?
