Sir, do you know about Velobase.com?
http://velobase.com/CompImages/Hubs/...A93162488.jpeg:innocent: The gentleman left the garage open, we all mounted our respective steeds, and rode off. You could still hear the hog a mile away. Nice guy, but I don't think he's going to be riding that 12-speed very much! |
One reason for such a configuration is that it slightly increases the angle of the drive-side spokes (a good thing, required-tension-wise), and because the spoke holes are farther apart than on a smaller diameter flange, they're somewhat less likely to fail (as one Record small-flange hub I rode did). In addition, the large flange increases the spoke angle for any crossed pattern, making it closer to tangent, which also reduces the chances of flange failure.

they are pretty neat hubs. there was one on ebay a few months ago but, as much as I would love one it just got too pricy for me.

None of us have seen or heard of these. Can you Campy
addicts enlighten us about these... ie. when and why? . Oh, and for the motorcycle enthusiasts, the Harley was a knucklehead. I'd heard of but not seen one of those in person either! |
