Kurt's Paramount photo bonanza!
Was the April Fools thread "Found a Paramount for twenty dollars." Scroll down if you'd like to see some C&V VLW pictures, and not just of Paramounts.
Ever had one of those days where everything seems to happen faster then you realize it? This was one of those times.
I had been working on my '74 International when I heard a knock at the door; it was one of the neighborhood fellows that is always saying "I know you like all those old 10-speed bikes." Well, he said that he picked something up at the flea market, and thought I might be interested.
When he pulled it out of his van, I knew it was going to be special.
I knew it was a gem the second I caught a full glimpse of it. I asked him how much. "Thirty dollars" was the reply. I played hardball.
"Would you take $20?"
"Sold."
And there it was, rolling back to the workshop with me. It would be an hour before it dawned on me that - yes - I had added another beautiful Paramount to the fleet.
She isn't perfect, but she's there. Unloved, but not abused.
Yes, a lucky day it was. I spent the afternoon cleaning up the new acquisition. It couldn't have gone better.
I worked well into the evening with it, so I've only a dark, indoor drivetrain shot to leave you with...
...because THIS APRIL FOOL'S POST IS WORTHLESS WITHOUT PICTURES!

It's good to see you are following the Bike Commandments, Son!
By all means you seem to have the first one down;
You shall have no other Brands before Schwinn.
But I'm worried you may be a little shaky on number two.
You shall not make for yourself any collection of bikes too big for your shed!

Ha! I was thinking "damn, those clamp on Campy shifters are worth more than $20- what a deal!" Little did I think to look at the date first!
Beauties, every one of them!

Nice! I was somewhat inspired to go to yardsales and flea markets, but alas I was momentarily duped. I really like the copper one.... nice flock!

Kurt, I don't know what to say.
I'm sitting on the couch foaming at the mouth, wiping drool off my face, panting like a sick dog and my girlfriend asks "are you seriously watching porn while I'm sitting right here?" Of course I replied "yes."
You really had me going on that Paramount. My eyes were watering. While I have your attention, what the heck is that purddddy black chain ring on the Peugeot?

- Kurt, I changed the thread title, but if you have a better title in mind I'll be happy to change it to what ever you wish. Just PM me with the request.
