Looking for info on a Nishiki Super 5 bicycle
Hello
I have Nishiki Super 5 bicycle, and I am trying to find out how old it is. This is my first posting on Bike Forums, so I am not sure if this the correct location to ask for this help. I have tried to look thru Nishiki serial numbers but I can not track this one down. It seems that nobody knows anything about this bike. Any ideas would be appreciated. Any info would be a great help. I have photos if that would help. Not too sure on how to post a picture, but will try. Thank You. Leo

I had a 1975 road bike (different model) with very similar markings: decals, headbadge, etc.
Look up the date code on that rear derailleur. If it is original, that should tell you within about 6 months. See the vintage trek site for component code details. Some of the other parts are likely to have codes on them as well: the brake calipers and the handlebar stem would be two I would check out.

Like Bill, I have a 1974 Nishiki International that has the identical downtube "Nishiki" and the seat tube decal is the same. IMHO it's around a 74-75 model. But the method stated earlier, using the date codes on the derailers and the Vintage Trek site will nail it down. Interesting bike, thanks for sharing.

Thanks everybody for the info. I really like this Nishiki, I don't even remember where I got it. I will check on your ideas for trying to date it. Again, any ideas or (guess's ) would be helpful. I just can not find any info on it anywhere. Leo
