Nyah, nyah Collin, you don't have ALL the luck!

Stopped at a thrift shop a couple blocks away from where I got my lunch today just because it was close. Made my normal spin through the place and as I passed the door back to the donations area I see this bike. I thought it was something that a volunteer rode in on...'til I saw the flash of a yellow price tag

So I poked my head in, "This for sale?". "Sure, just came in the morning, we were getting ready to put it out. You do realize it has those funny special pedals on it?" "Sure, I think I have a pair I can replace them with."

Rolled it up to the register and $50.99 + tax later it's in the car. Sorry for the crappy single pic, but you get the idea.

Stem and bars aren't original, whoever owned it must have been huge...long stem and like 46cm bars. But the group is RX100 7 speed in perfect condition, the frame is nearly flawless as are the wheels. Even the bar tape is Cinelli cork and perfect. Not sure what the SPD pedals are yet but I'll figure it out.

So, bianchigirl, what year Campione might this be?

Ahhhhhhh, congrats Keith! Bianchi's are pretty foreign to me, but I love the contrasting tube colors and lugs. Whatever the heck it is, $50 is a steal!

I love the RX100 group, by the way. I had that group on my 1993 Specialized Allez and it worked flawlessly. Honestly, I'm happy you were able to find such a good deal. I started to feel bad posting the deals I've found. Maybe now I can tell you about the other seven bikes I bought yesterday?

I'm thinking a switch to black housings and silver bar tape, maybe Fizik Microtex or FUBAR metallic? Whatcha think? I think the white housings kill it personally.

Wow, RX100 chain rings are so damn ugly I had to go check if they were original.

Is that a Tange Infinity sticker hiding down on the seat tube? 1993 is equipped similarly, but mentions "Tange DB Bianchi Superset-2" for the frame.

Ahh, early 90s steel... right up my alley with the limited space I've got

There is some sort of "Superset" sticker on the top of the seat tube and a Tange Infinity at the bottom...I had to stash this one at my favorite client's place. I can hit a pic or two of the stickers tomorrow.

Yep, and that's definitely the crankset...maybe I'll use the Biopace rings from the Fuji in process right now

About the best I've come across at my local thrift was a rusty Takara sport. (I passed on it).
I'm pretty certain they are in cahoots with one of the local bike sharps. They must be snagging all the good ones before they hit the sales floor...

Hey - Do you think maybe Khatfull and Mickey85 have a network?

It actually make quite a bit of sense this time of year, I might be able to sell it for $250, but I could also donate it and have a $400 write off on my taxes.

Nice find khatfull!

Now that you mention it, mine were definitely acting up in the cold wind today. They were even making noise when I was peddling hard

My wheel build thread...

Owie, that sounds bad....reminds me of the one (and only) day I went out and ran 10 miles in a T-shirt with a big heat transfer graphic on it. Little buds (no pun intended) bled and were sore for a week! ARGH
