1986 Schwinn Prelude
I hope someone could guide me. I have a 1986 Schwinn Prelude (1006) 21 inch frame in mint condition. I have only ridden it about a dozen times and then stored it in the basement. All original parts, the tires are low on air but I have to purchase the adapter to pump them up so I don't know if they will hold air. There are no scratches, no rust. The only thing that is missing is the original straps that held your feet into the pedals. Where would be the best place to sell and how much would it be worth. Any help would be appreciated.

I have sold two 1986 Preludes in the last six months. They are mid level Schwinns, not the top end, not the bottom either. Not really collectable. They are a local Craigs List sale item.
All original is not a great selling point, that means all the consumable parts: bearings, grease, tires, tubes, cables, housings, etc., are 24 years old. Any sophisticated buyer would assume those items would need to be replaced.
Buyers on Craigs List around here want bikes that are ready to ride. Bikes that need any significant work sell to people looking for projects, at a hefty discount.
Post pics as condition is everything on older bikes.

I've ridden a Schwinn Prelude - a nice bike with 700c wheels, suede saddle, and Suntour Cyclone group. If you were around my area I'd gladly give you $75. Fixed up, tuned, polished, and ready to ride she'd sell for $150 to $200 near Washington D.C. In some less urban areas she'll bring $50 fixed up.

I sold one for $240 not so long ago. They're highly underrated, and more collectable than most people seem to think. It was even pink?,,,,BD
I did upgrade the components, but it sold within 3 days, for my asking price.....
