Suntour Vx rear derailleur request and question
I have a nice unused Suntour Vx-S rd that I'd like to use, but it's missing the mounting bolt--it presumably escaped because it was one of the non-captive bolts like those used on some of the Cyclone derailleurs and probably others. I thought I could just take a mounting bolt from the trashed VGT Luxe I also have, but it's a different size--ditto for the Cyclone mounting bolts.
Does anyone have a Vx mounting bolt they'd be willing to part with for a few bucks or a trade for some other potentially useful item?
Also, as I recall, the Vx-S was rated for a maximum cog of 30 teeth. It seems to be what I'd call a medium cage--about 58-59 mm between the cog pivots. Anybody care to take a guess on whether that could be pushed to 32 teeth?

Check www.loosescrews.com for the mounting bolt.
Generally manufacturers rate their derailleurs on the conservative side, so you should be able to get away with 32 teeth if its rated for 30. I'm getting away with 25 T on a Superbe RD that claims to handle only up to 23T, but admittedly it just barely clears the big cog...it wouldn't go any bigger

Bicycle Repair Man !!!
I have a Vx here that I won't part out but can probably match up the bolt from my little stock of Suntour bits and if not... I also have a few places here I can look for spares.

I could use the one from the "trashed V-GT Luxe", IF it will fit a VX-GT...I wish this alphabet soup of SunTour was easier: Anybody got a simple reference list of sizes for mounting bolts and what RDs they fit?
Check out my for sale and trade list for trade bait...
