I've just bought a NOS Pinarello frame I guess it's late 80s early 90s Columbus TSX tubeset for myself and a late 90s Olmo frame Thron tubeset for my wife.

I've pretty much decided to build up the Olmo fame with Campy Athena 11 Alloy, it has an old schoolish look apart from the levers which are carbon wrapped and I'm sure my wife will like the functionality, she has Tiagra on her current bike.

With the Pinarello frame I was thinking to build it up with C-Record possibly 93 0r 94 as I'd rather have brifters than downtube shifters. I've been lurking on ebay for a while and it looks like I could pick up the bits I need for a reasonable price(probably around the same as new Athena) except for the brifters. I haven't seen a set on ebay. Are they rare or did they crap out early so not many left to be sold? I'm thinking now that I might put Athena on it as well even though I'd much rather have alloy levers.

Any opinions C-Record vs Athena vs something else?
