I live in Monroe County. When I created this username, actually on bentrideronline, I was doing a lot of long recreational rides out in the country around the, you know, county.

Fizzaly was just a screen name I made up during AOL chat days, I never liked having a screen name with numbers and this was the first word I found that needed no numbers, the avatar is the main "bad guy" character from an older B horror film called "Bad taste" which is in my opinion more a comedy.

My daughter needed a car in '95 to get to school so I bought her a '77 Impala coupe, she said, Dad, it's to big! I drove that car for the next 10 years. I still have it, 196,000 miles on it.

Many moons ago when the interent was new and hotmail was a hot item I made my first ever id. I tried 'krobinson' but that was taken so I choose a random number after it. Ever since if I need a user name I just use that. Makes remembering log on details so much easier.

When I was stationed in the UK with the Air Force, I belonged to a computer club on base. When we all rotated back to the US, we decided to keep in touch in a chat room on AOL once a week. We called it the "Yo Room". Everyone chose a Yo name Yo Doc, Yo Terry, Yo Larry, etc. I always liked the "Spaceman Spiff" character from Calvin & Hobbes, so I chose Yo Spiff. It's always been available whatever site I go to, so I stick with it now, with just minor variations to account for screen name rules, so having to use YoSpiff or Yo_Spiff in some places.

Ray R is my name. RVF is Revolutionary Velo Fraction, inspired by the Rote Armee Fraktion logo. I turned the "A" upsidedown into a "V" and replaced the HK MP-5 with a bicycle frame.

When my daughter was in high school and would bring home a boy friend ("he's not a boyfriend he's a friend who is a boy") and I would try to get him to ride my 1968 schwinn run-a-bout. She told me to stop, I was commiting 'social suicide'. Well, several years and 6 small wheeled bikes later, she's still single!

ZeRinger or "Zeh Ringer" is sort of a play on words for one of my other interests, Audi Quattros (4 ringed logo, hence ZeRinger). In another life I was the webmaster for Audi Car Club North America and a bunch of other automotive enthusiast sites / businesses. My avatar is the down tube on my '86 Panasonic Team Japan.

I am of German/Northern European heritage, and I've been building, modifying, and repairing just about every form of bicycle, motorcycle, car, and commercial truck, as well as fabricating aircraft parts, since I was 12 years old. When I was building high-end tandem and single bicycle framesets for someone else, I would build my own personal custom bikes in their factory at night and I would have Black Flag or The Henry Rollins Band cranking into the wee hours, and no one had any idea what exactly I was working on until it saw the light of day. Several friends thought I should start building my own custom bikes fulltime and they came up with "Stealthammer" as the name brand, but I decided not to lock myself into just building bikes at the time.
During the same timeframe I was also doing quite a bit of non-fabrication "contract work" that was usually well "below the radar", so my friends gave me the nickname of "Stealthammer" instead and it just stuck. Later on when I was building custom Harleys and also doing a lot of contract network infrastructure work while I was employed as a computer/networking instructor, it just became a handy way of keeping my real name "off-the-books" at times.
My avatar is my Harlequin Macaw "Apache" who has been my life companion since my wife passed way in late 2002, and he has been mountain biking, rock climbing, and "adventuring" with me all over the country since 1999.

Tremolo is not one of the five elements of sound, but rather describes a sound effect caused by a rhythmic variation in one of them (amplitude). The username Tremolo1965 is less interesting but I like the sound of it; it's actually a reference to an EP by a band called My Bloody Valentine + my birth year.

My username is one that I have had for many many years actually. I've used it in numerous forums. A loooooong time ago when I was registering for an MSN email account and when I was trying to think up a username, I looked at the mountain bike I had then, which had those hideous Michelin red colored tires on it....voila. Pretty sure the avatar speaks for itself.

Roypercy - a mashup of my first and middle names (Royston and Percy) - an old Scotch-Irish family name, way more highfalutin than the iliterate blacksmith grandfather I was named after. My avatar is a Motobecane headbadge since it was the search for a Motobecane to replace the one I had in college that got me onto C&V in the first place.

I do not know what I was thinking when I typed in yarper3.
If it is possible I would like to change to something I actually gave some thought to.
As to avatar I really like the vintage Centurions so I snapped a pic of a Centurion headbadge.
I actually have an extra one just like it stashed somewhere. If someone needs one PM me.

My name is Gary, probably named after the actor, Gary Cooper, and my ancestors probably lived near a stream or a spring in England around the time when last names became important to tax collection around the 1300's.

Cool thread. To quote Wikipedia:
"An orrery is a mechanical device that illustrates the relative positions and motions of the planets and moons in the Solar System in a heliocentric model. Though the Greeks had working planetaria, the first orrery that was a planetarium of the modern era was produced in 1704, and one was presented to the Earl of Orrery — whence the name came. They are typically driven by a clockwork mechanism with a globe representing the Sun at the centre, and with a planet at the end of each of the arms."
I found a picture of one made out of a bike crank and thought it was a perfect avatar.
I am a science grad student so I have a soft spot for scientific esoterica and minutiae.

I came up with guitarpete cos my name is Pete and I used to play guitar in several bands for about 25 years. When I opened my ebay account I was after some guitar spares so went for guitarpete. Ebay prompted me to add the numbers so stuck them in. This is now my user name in several forums and sites.
I used to be golfnutter8v as I had a VW Golf Gti MkII 8 valve. Having got rid of that 10 years ago I can't go with that.
Don't know what I'd call myself if someone nicks my user name for another site.
My avatar is me photographing my bike against next doors garage door.
