Holdsworth Equipe
I was at my LBS today planning my 29er build. As I went to leave he offered me a Holdsworth Equipe for FREE!. Frame and fork. The frame is in decent condition, but has a dent in the top tube. I have no idea what this is and need some info. Thanks!

Holdsworths are simply the finest bicycles ever made. Don't worry about the dent...aficionados call that "patina".

He asked me if I was interested in a blue steel frame. Of course I would say yes. I thought it was going to be a Free Spirit or Ross, but when he pulled it out of the basement I could see HOLDSWORTH on the down tube. I'm thinking of making a fixed gear with it.

The Equipe was launched 1969-71. It has plain gauge Reynolds tubing, Prugnat lugs and 105cm wheelbase. It was available in orange with blue panels, blue with orange panels or silver with white panels in 1972, although the brochures imply team colours only. The 10sp Tourer had a wider gear range using 40/48 rings with 14 to 26 freewheel. Full length plastic mudguards and a rear pannier

Mine has no Reynolds stickers on it. It does have the Prugnat lug sticker on it. Does that mean it is straight guage Reynolds 531?
