Check oldroads.com. The original Chicago Schwinn S/N system used an initial letter to denote the month (A=Jan,H=Aug,J=Sep,M=Dec), followed by a digit which was the last digit of the year of manufacture. Starting in 1965, they went to system with two initial letters, with AA = Jan 1965.
