I agree. This is my first set of deep V rims, and I think the all black with black hubs will be nice. But the big white and red letters just don't do it for me either.

Well, I had a chance to dig the '93 R600 out of the back of the basement to take its first pictures. I picked this up locally last fall from a student at the college here in town. It is the lightest of all my C-Dales at just 22lbs on the bathroom scale.



It was equipped with the original Shimano 105 gear, right down to the hubs, and these SRAM Road Twist Shifters.



I did, however, switch out the 42 tooth chainring for a 39, increased the cassette range from 11-21, to a 12-28, and added a Tiagra long cage RD.



Once again, I can't wait for the weather to turn nice and take it for a spin.

I just got this 58cm '89 Black Lightning, although I think it may be right at the upper end of my usable size range. Just couldn't resist the temptation. Anybody got a black/gold Suntour Edge RD laying around? Haha.

I'll be really pleased if my snow melts in 4 weeks! Ha! Only in my dreams. I'll be lucky if it is all gone in 8 weeks!

60cm is my preferred size at this time.

You know it really depends on the temps, it got up above freezing here for a few days, and the snow banks are down about half a metre and it's supposed to be warm for a couple more days. Snow banks are at the brown stage now... Unfortunately it's supposed to get cold again on the weekend and stay there for a while, rain tomorrow that really causes them to shrink...

Here's a tasty 23 inch Cannondale ST that was finished this afternoon. Fresh red powder coat, new decals, saddle, bar tape, housing & cables, 700c Alex Race 24 rims on Scott hubs, new Cannondale long reach brakes with new Tektro anatomic bend levers, Shimano 600 tricolor FD/RD/BB/crankset, new 400RL Shimano 8 speed DT shifters, a 12/23 cassette and new Michelin Speediums. I'm a sucker for red bikes...






...and a long overdue pic of the Yellow Submarine with the new Ultegra/Mavic Open Pro wheels, Michelin Erilium2 tires and red decals it got at the end of last summer:

Got my R300 redone again yesterday. This time as a R1000si. Took it out for a 20mile shake down today. Rode wonderful!
Campy Proton wheels, Utegra drivetrain. Scaled at 21.6lb with M520 mountain peddles. I am pretty happy with that weight on a 63cm frame and the $350 I have in it.

First up is another Black Lightning repro: '87 58cm SR frame, fresh powdercoat, gold repro decals, all Shimano 600 components, handbuilt Alex rim/shimano hub wheelset, 7 speed Hyperglide, Vittoria Rubinos, Ritchey saddle.






Then we have this nice little 54cm white SR with all 2nd Gen 105 8 speed, Omega rims on Shimano hubs and a cool Sugino 75 crankset and BB (not a big fan of the 105 cranksets), Michelin Speediums, SR bars.





I probably have 7-8 bikes to go up on CL this weekend, gotta move some of these out.

I actually just picked up one of these frames. I'm having trouble getting the right bottom bracket size for it. I've taken it to 2 mechanics, both can't seem to get a good match with the Sugino GT Crank I have. The last mechanic told me I would probably need a 127mm length. He didn't have it in stock and was hesitant to give to go ahead since it would be nonrefundable.

I was wondering if you know the bottom bracket size that has worked best for you?

I havent run a Sugino on a sealed BB yet. on Coda and Shimano Triples I believe I have 113-118 UN25 and 27s On 105 doubles I think am running 110 (maybe less its really tight on the one bike) LP25's.
Sugino does seem to run a lot more offset. according to Sheldon's notes some of those ran a asymmetrical spindle of 127.5 with a 2mm spacer on the drive side. He is recommending a 122.5 UN72 with a 2mm drive-side spacer as a possible replacement. https://www.sheldonbrown.com/bbsize.html

Edit:
Measure the distance from the crank arms to the chain stay on both sides with a 122mm BB and see if they are different. You should be able to tell if it is a Asymmetric crank that way.
