What color handlebar tape?

I can't decide on a handlebar tape for my unusual colored Sanwa with a brown/cream seat. I'm open to all suggestions! THANKS!

leather to match the brown of the seat/tires or cinelli cork shellac'd to match. I think It'll be a difficult match; the white in the bontrager seat throws a serious wrench in the works. I think it'd just be best to go with the brown theme rather than try to work something else in.

I would say, if you can get something that matches one or the other colour in the saddle, go for it.....

brown to match the saddle or white would work well...

Plain Cinelli or Masi cork would look fine, or Octo makes a fake brown leather tape that would look good as well. Or you could go for my favourite tape: Benotto, in... pink! You have to imagine it for a moment.

Thanks guys! I think you're right about the seat throwing it off. I'm considering swapping it out for a black seat and doing a purple or grey tape, I dont think the brown compliments the color as well- not enough contrast..

Benotto in gold or brown would look sharp and timely.

White with brown stitching; that way you could probably get away with not getting an exact color match to the saddle.

Plain Cinelli cork, and if it's too light you can darken it with shoe polish.

So by color with shoe polish you mean get some white cork tape, then put the desired shoe polish color and thats it?

You know, that's a really good idea. You could put a cordovan color (dark brownish red) polish on the bars on a bike that is red or red-related.

I think it was an accident: I just received my latest shipment of various bike parts, and I have two sets of white handlebar tape! Hmm, gotta think of where I'll use it...
