Beginner's Tyre Questions....
I've just bought a Peugeot PKN10 as a beginner bike, I don't have it as yet but I know it's going to need some new tyres, the rims are:
Rear: Mavic MA2 700C
Front: Mavic Module E2
Has anyone got any advice on tyres, PSIs I need to be going for?
I was thinking 23s on the front and 25s on the rear, unsure of brands as yet but possibly one 23 and one 25 from the Specialized All Condition range - https://www.evanscycles.com/products/...-tyre-ec001821
Or just 23 Gator Skins on front and back?
Any thoughts?
Thanks.

Everyone loves the Pasela TGs! I am inclined to pick up a pair, as suggested in the similar thread I started a few months ago. I understand they run narrow...does that mean that 28mm would come up more like most makers' 25mm? I am rolling on 25s now and don't think I want to go thinner for general recreational riding.

Michelin City with reflectorized sidewalls is another fine tire. The tread is more slick than Panny's Parsela. I'd go with the largest tire that will fit on that frame. 700c x 32 is a fine all-purpose size. I don't like to go lower than 28 unless I'm riding on silky smooth roads.

Gatorskins are great (and much better flat protection that the Panaracers). I would get 25s on both wheels. Did the bike come originally with the 700c rims or was it converted from 27 inch?

Thanks for the responses.
The bike did originally come with the 700c rims.
Ok, so I think my plan is to purchase some basic, entry level tires (Continental Ultrasports), the reason for this being I'm going to New York at the end of July and I believe I can get some Gatorskins for cheaper than here in the UK.
This would also mean I've got the Ultrasports as spares.
Pretty sure I'm going to go with 28mm although when I finally get the bike, I'll ride it on the tires it has and see how it goes.

If your experience is like mine, you're going to LOVE the PKN10. I've had my PKN10E for about a year and a half now and haven't even been tempted to look at anything else. Tires? (Tyres?) I've been running Specialized Tri-Sports in 700x23C. No flats, no complaints. 100PSI in front and 110 in rear. I weigh 185 lbs. More experienced cyclists may have reason to prefer other brands and sizes, but I'm happy.

There's hardly any difference. In perusing old catalogues online, I noticed some minor difference in components. I also understand that Peugeot sometimes made mid-year changes, so I'm only about 60% sure, 40% guessing.
