Alpina Restoration/Rebuild

Hi everyone. I recently bought an Alpina road bike from my local bike shop, basically he gave it to me for about $10 (R150 for Saffer's). The bike looks a bit trashed, dirt seriously impacted every where (it's like the previous owner buried it!), chain is twisted, paint job seriously chipped etc.. but once I gave it a wipe down, she looked okay'ish.

I've decided to document the rebuild here as a record for myself and anyone else that's interested.

As I mentioned, she's an Alpina (I'm told 80's era), with Suntour Blaze deraileurs, super maxi cranks and BRS brakes. I'm going to try document all the bits and pieces that come off her as well document processes ect...

Lastly, I got a photo album I'll keep updated here.

Amazing price for sure. It's amazing how nice bikes end up being left out or mistreated Great score!

I know, it's heartbreaking to see the condition they're in, but on the other side of the coin, we wouldn't pick up these types of bargains if everybody valued these bikes as we do!
