Motobecane Pics
Hey everyone, I have a 1972 Motobecane Grand Record with the plastic headbadge, that I am working on restoring. It has silver paint with black seat tube stripes and head lugs. I believe this model also came in a yellow paint with black stripes and head lugs. Does anyone have, or can you point me in the direction of some good pictures of a Grand Record with that paintjob? Also I have found the collection of Motobecane catalogs on line but only down to 1974 anybody know of a 1973 or 1972? And last but not least does anyone know if the entire frame is all 531 butted? (my decals are all missing)

Here is a blog entry on a silver one from that same era:

The yellow version was exactly like the silver... except yellow paint instead of silver. The black accents/details were the same on both color options.
Here is a yellow one, a little older with a decal instead of the plastic headbadge. But they are identical.

The frames on models a year or two later (black/red and silver/black) had nervex lugs that were painted the same color as the main color. These models were full double butted 531 frame and fork.
I suspect that the yellow/black and silver/black models with the black painted nervex lugs, like your frame, are the same full 531 DB frames, but I am not sure about the fork.
