Awesome bike, awesome pictures. I haven't been over to that factory in five years or so, glad to see it's still standing.
That factory is less than a half mile from where my father was born and raised. My grandfather worked for Westfield/Columbia for his entire adult life and never owned a car, just walked or rode his Columbia. I wish my father was more into bikes and saved some stuff my grandfather used to have from those days. All I really have left is a Centennial edition road bike (late 70's junk) and an 80's coaster brake cruiser (also pretty low quality). Somewhere I have a picture of my dad as a teenager riding a late 60's Columbia tandem solo from the stoker's seat...I wish that bike was still around.

I wish I had seen the old factory before 2008 when they tore down the major part of the old factory and the famous Pope smokestack. But I am glad I took this mini pilgrimage to what remains for these photos after I put this bike together. I also wish the Columbia museum was still there, but they tore that building down too and mothballed all the bikes. Sad.
Apparently they are still building school furniture there.

Finally got a full family portrait. I couldn't convince my wife to let me have a bike in it.

^ Beautiful family you got there!
And a Raleigh Gran Sport in Laguna Blue and white would be an excellent accompaniment.

Old pic, 1982 I think. I'm in the yellow/blue Jersey aboard my Super Course.
Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, circa 2000. I'm the one in the horrible white sleeveless jersey
October 2012 in Tepoztlan, Mexico. No bike, but one of few recent pictures of me.

Sort of a timeline, I guess.
About twenty years ago.
Maybe six years ago.
Four years ago.
Three years ago.
Last May.
Yesterday.
Anyway, I just realized that I've been using the same gloves for over six years. That's something like 25,000 miles... maybe I should be doing a product endorsement for them.

Scozim: What a fantastic family portrait...you have a lovely family!
I realized I have few shots of myself on a bike. But thanks to Drillium Dude during our Southern AZ group ride, here's a recent shot of me, enjoying Italian steel. Note my C&V Hind tights.
