We are still in Germany but will be back in Oregon by the end of this year. We will have been here for 2 years (in June for the wife, and Sep for me) and it is flying by quick! Let me know if you make it to the Stuttgart area. I'll show you around the Black Forest! |

Well, probably not what you had in mind. Taken about 15 years ago. I'm a little grayer and a little more wrinkled but look pretty much the same now that I've lost most of the weight I put on during that time and I still have the Krate.

Luberon! I used to visit some friends who lived way up in the woods near Céreste & hike along the ancient shepherd's trail from Apt. They moved, but I'd love to get back there for a good ride - now I have friends a little further east near Castellane.

Nice to meet you too David! I have to say, I'm shocked that Elev12k parted with one of his Koga Miyata Pro bikes... it goes without saying that I'm beyond jealous!!! Time after time Elev12K has been incredibly helpful on here and RetroBikeUK, always willing to lend a hand, he is one of my favorite forum members!
Cheers! -D- |

I'm a long-time reader, but just recently signed up, so thought I'd introduce myself to this (my favorite) board with a pic of my and my bike:
http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=362641 This is me, after one of my first rides on my beloved '82 Champion Mondial. Since then there have been some changes on the bike (saddle, lever hoods, pedals, speedometer..), but the smile never went away ;) I consider it vintage, although it's not very pure.. I put new Mavic Aksium rims on it, which I think match very much. I'm not a vintage purist, I just like the look of the bike... Thought I'd open a new topic in the near future about my bike, since I have a few questions. |

Long time lurker (thank you for all the help through that time) and figured I'd better join.
Not too many pics of me on the bike...I seem to be the one who is taking the photos. Closest I have is this one from a few years ago. Was riding a century with two friends and had been fighting a wicked cross wind for a while...this was my reaction to the turn sign. Riding my "daily driver" 2004 Felt F60 (with a lot of upgrades since then). https://www.dropbox.com/s/6b2vm1ijuzy2drr/TdC.jpg?dl=0 This is the latest project, finished restoring it last summer (replaced cables, housing, bar tape, and tires...everything else is original). 1971 Raleigh International. Was my father's first new bike purchase after college. He's enjoyed it for 40+ years, now it's my turn to take it for 40 years. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...15/Raleigh.jpg This is the next project. Another of my dad's old bikes. Unfortunately he threw the fork away at some point. If anyone has an undrilled track fork that would work for a bike from this era that they would be willing to part with, let me know. It's been hard to find much information on the bike, so if anyone knows anything about old Paragons... https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...15/Paragon.jpg I really spend most of my time on dirt, but my mtn bike died a painful death last summer (cracked frame). Still working on finding a suitable replacement before the snow melts. That said, the Raleigh has really furthered my appreciation for classic/vintage bikes. |
