So cool! I had a Raleigh English Racer, but only in the standard black. That Shwinn looks so much better. Enjoy!

Hello, I'm a casual bike rider who unknowingly picked up a really awesome bike that I'm super charmed with. Me and my 1967 Raleigh Sprite.

This is a poor quality photo, this is my oldest daughter and I on a ride this past fall. We were on a twenty mile ride, on the way back, about 8 miles out she got a flat and then I realized I had not packed a tube for her bike and did not have any patches. I ended up stuffing leaves in the tire to make it ride-able but that didn't work.

This is my boy about four years ago, we were out on the mountain bike trail.

Several times a year we have a 30 mile ride that he loves, 15 out to the ice cream shop and 15 back. This shot is at the end of this past summer. He does the ride on a 20" wheel bmx bike with wide knobby tires and we average about 12-15 mph. When he gets a geared road bike I think I will probably have a hard time keeping up with him.

Cool bike, and don't worry. Many of us started off casual and with one bike, but the addiction will grow on you.

(#1 - #9 I can't afford to break so they hang in the Bike Room)... but I'm not as bad as I was...twelve others (from 40's-80's) were sold off when I lost my last job.

Enjoy!
Thats an awesome collection. A Teledyne Titan and a Graftek. I thought those bikes possessed some kind of magic back in the day. They really were on the cutting edge of cycling innovation. I'll never forget riding behind Ron Skarin, he on his Teledyne Titan track bike. Ah, those were the days.

Nice! I was thinking of the JZ classic, but went on a recovery ride with mates... What's next on the calendar?

haha the weather was slightly better than last year, luckily, although it was still extremely windy out there. Next up is the LBL (26th of april), friends of mine are going, I think one of them is even going to ride it on a vintage Koga. Before that there's also the first 200k brevet in Zuid-Holland, I might give that a shot (5th of april).

200k? Sweet Jezus, that would be a challenge for me. Though I can think of someone who can be our pack leader on that ride @paulkal

I did the LBL classic last year, somewhere in June I believe. Or was it August? Anyways, it was a lot of fun: 150k in the good old Ardennes and the weather was sweet to us

The 200 from Zoetermeer? I did that one several times, it is an ok ride. I won't be doing it this year (or any other rides from Zoetermeer). The organisator now has helmets compulsory, and I don't believe in helmets.

yeah, the one starting from Zoetermeer, since Zoetermeer is just 10 minutes away by train. And I don't mind wearing a helmet

I had to look up "normcore." Thank you ... I think.

i think I look awfully paunchy in that picture. I'm not used to that. I'm also startled to see how bald I am in pictures.

To be honest, I don't know what to think of the normcore fashion trend. If it is a fashion. And as far as the balding goes, I'm right there with you.

My balding is far from complete so far, and it's happening slowly. I think it wasn't long ago I had half my hair left. And looking at myself straight on in the mirror, I appear to have more than I really have, which is pictures of me startle me. When my father died at 81, RIP, he still had thick and copious hair, but that's irrelevant, isn't it? My maternal grandfather was totally bald.
