Dura-Ace AX and Super Record crank compatibility?

Hello,

I have a Grandis here that is as close to a perfect bike as I can imagine (thanks KonAaron), the only problem is the AX pedals are always giving me some kind of grief and now I am at the point where I'd like to replace the AX crank with Super Record to match the rest of the group and have the ability to go clipless. The question is do I need to replace the Dura-Ace BB or are the two compatible?

Thanks!

I'd be willing to bet not, since Campy uses a different axle taper from the rest of the world. And then there's the whole axle length issue - NR/SR used asymmetrical axles and Shimanos (recent ones anyway) are symmetrical.

+1.

On the other hand, if you can take off

current BB
crankset
pedals

and ebay them, you will have more than enough to get a 7400 Dura Ace crank, a 7400 DA BB and the pedals of your choice (other than DA 7400 Aero pedals) and have some $ left.

I think he wanted a SR crankset to match the rest of the bike. but I am sure he should be able to sell that for enough or swapp it for a SR set

The BB spindle won't work, but the cups are essentially the same as Campy's "thin" (i.e. non-rifled) cups. A Sugino double spindle would work fine.

Thanks,

Quick question..For the not yet so handy with a wrench how hard is it to replace the BB?

Also FWIW I bought these yesterday so at least I can keep riding while I figure the rest out..
