Old Trek (80s) question.
Newbie here, i've been looking up thread after thread about this bike to see if i can find anything. Just picked this up today, Trek 460 for $120. I thought it was a good price and rides really well. Was the price fair for a bike thats over 25 years old? Thank you

The 460 was the entry level race bike but still very nice. Fairly light and the Suntour Cyclone equipment is very good as well. If it's in good shape then $120 is pretty good.
What is odd is that your model should have had aero brakes so the levers were probably replaced and also the seat was replaced. The shifter levers look wrong too.

Thank you, its is pretty light, i'd say around 20-25lbs.
The seat is not original to the bike. Its from a mongoose. The shifter levers say Shimano on them and for the breaks everything say Dia Compe on them. Are those parts comperable to what was on the bike originally or did i get shafted?

Oh also, another thing that is labeled is the handlebars. They say Belleri from France, are those original?

Here is a PDF of with the original specifications.
The Shimano levers are not stock.
It mentions Belleri for the bars.
Take a photo from the drive side, and some component close ups.

I should also mention that affordable but nice aero brake levers are an easy upgrade.

I think the ones that may not be showing up are for the chainring and the front brake. Front brake (as well as the rear) is the Dia Compe and the chainring is Sakae CR. I guess the only thing original on this thing is the handlebars and the toe clips on the pedals. For $120 this thing should still be a decent ride though right? If i did want to restore this are those parts that are not on the bike now easy to find?

I'm just startin my 6th Trek resto. That bike looks like a decent deal. They're kind of addicting and anything that isn't origional is an excuse to upgrade.
