Um, you're not allowed to say that you "just picked up a 1951 Humber Clipper" WITHOUT POSTING ANY PICTURES! Cripes.

So, please post some pics, huh?

Can I ask what makes you believe it's a '51 Humber Clipper? Is it the decals? Did the previous owner tell you it was? I'm not an expert, but I believe Humbers made in that early 50's time frame would have the Duplex forks and that distintive chain wheel of 5 figures "dancing".

Interesting pictures. I wonder now if Humber used regular Raleigh type forks and different chain rings as well as those made famous by Humber at times?

Here are two more sources for decals. You may have to contact them as Humber decals are not listed in their current stock lists.

https://www.velocals.com/servlet/StoreFront

https://stores.ebay.com/Cyclomondo

So, what are your plans; clean up or total restoration?

What exactly was the original color on that bike?

That year Humber offered gloss black, royal blue, deep crimson, orange, and mild bland, which you see above.

Just crying out for some Meguiars, eh? Maybe there's an actual color under there!
