Frame choice: 83' Trek 520 or 86' Bridgestone 400

You'll have to excuse my ignorance about the materials used to build these bikes. I am going to be building up my next "everything" bike (mainly commuting, going to events around down, and overnight camping trips) over the next week or so and I have two frames and the parts to build one complete bike.

It looks like the Trek was built with Reynolds 501 while the Bridgestone 400 used Ishiwata(?) steel.

Which would you go with? what would your preference be and why?

I can not speak for the trek , but the Bridgestone is a excellent frame, is lively and very compliant.
