Where in the world is C&V?

Ask and ye shall receive...

Here's a public Google Map for all of us to mark our locations on. It should be open for public collaboration:

https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UT...eb7a8bfee4506f

I also have a second one as suggested for those of us who are willing to facilitate purchases for out of towners, look to the "The Facilitators" thread here:

https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...lling-and-able!

for that map.

EDIT: If any members want to be on the map but NOT sign up for anything at Google, PM me with whatever location you'd like to be associated with and I'll add you to the map. Also, the maps were created under a new Gmail account I created for the purpose. If I should go away for some reason I can pass that account info on to someone else.

Bikes: Was Fuji and got my grails (Pro, Pro SR, Design Series, & Ti). Now I hunt 50's and older road bikes.

You have to login to a Google account to edit and add a placemark to the map. "World editable" evidently means everyone in the world with a Google/Gmail account. If you have one go to maps.google.com, sign in, then click on the link for the map. You should then see an edit button which will allow you to put your placemark on the map.

I've been signed into Google, still cannot see your placement or save my own.

I see me on the map, after closing browsers, and NOT logging in. Maybe it takes Google a bit to get it going, I don't know. Now I'm going to sign in and create another placemark.

And I see my second placemark without signing in...

Try it again Matt. Do all the Google sign outs, close your browser, then check the map again.

I figured out what the deal was....the little applet here at BF when you insert a URL munged the Google URL and made it invalid. I hand edited them and now it seems to work.

I edited the link in the first post, Matt can you try it now?

I put mine at my favorite riding area. Within 5 miles of my house, but far enough away to keep my stash safe

Now Matt, edit your placemark with your username? I figure usernames would relate back to the forum well. I also added my avatar to my placemark if you hover over mine on the map you'll see it.

This is a PITA! How do I edit to show the bike and my BF name? I thought that I did that, but I ended up with my real first name and no little cycling guy.

Edit: I think that I figured it out.

I put mine on my street, but not the right address. Thieves would break into the wrong garage, except now they know my ruse.
