Sugino Crank Comparison??

Replacing the old SR triple crank on my '84 miyata 610.

One company offers a Sugino XD2 (46/36/24), and specifically touts "no ramps or pins." Another company offers a very similar-sounding Sugino XD2 600 (48/36/26) with "shifting aids", which I assume means ramps/pins.

Are these the same thing? If not, any experience out there with one or the other, and any preferences? If it matters, I will be running an old SunTour VGT Luxe rear derailleur (friction). Thanks!

Good question, the difference might also be the distance between the chainwheel centers, there might be more gap between the rings with the model with no shifting aides.

So, what chain are you running, or plan to run?

Chain is TBD, I'll ask the guy who sells me the winning crank!

The XD2 does not have ramps and pins. The XD600 does. they are pretty much the same crank other than that. There are some differences in finish and so on, but they are extremely similar cranks. I use them. They are nice affordable cranks.
