aside from the 27" wheels (which I would double check on with a Exage LX derailleurs I bet they are 700) it looks like a great deal. a touring bike for 150? if it fits go and get it quickly

Hey Mike, another CC'er here. If you pass on the deal please let me know. I'd be interested in picking that bike up for use this winter.

That's a light, decently equipped bike for $150, and set up to tour a bit, not a bad deal at all.

OH sorry yes 27 wheels are OK and it certainly is still a great bike. I meant to add something to the effect that I would not be interested in 27" wheels but still can't go wrong

I had a Raliegh Technium mountain bike back in college. It was a fine bicycle except for the awful indexing-that-sucked Suntour XCE drivetrain, eventually Shimano-ized.

If it fits, I think $150 is fair. Budget another $75 for tires, tubes, brake blocks, and possibly a chain if it's been neglected.

Tire selection in 27" isn't as vast a 700c but there's still quite a few decent tires made in that size; alas, they are usually special order at your LBS or mail order.
