Raleigh headset woes
Hey gang
I am making a whole new bike out of some stuff my big brother hammedowned. The frame is a 1977 Raleigh supercourse. Very cool indeed. The paint job and new decals are coming right along, the wheels are built and the lovely crankset is in the mail and i replaced the bb. Now for the crunchy feeling headset. I took the frame to my favorite bike shop and had them put on a headset that I had for another bike. So far so good. Sadly the stronglight A9 is too tall of a stack for the steerer tube then to make it even more impossible I need to put a centerpull brake cable guide in there too. I know a tange will fit but I'm really hoping to use something a little sexier. Any suggestions? |
nothing wrong with a Tange. I like the old Shimano 600 headsets too.

Hmm.. maybe one of the Velo-Orange headsets? The Campagnolo Nuovo Gran Sport headsets have a low stack height. I used an alloy Tange headset on my Raleigh Professional, good stuff.

Welp,
I decided that getting on the road was cooler than what brand name I had on a chunk of metal so I went with tange and went for a ride. I'm sorry to disappoint anyone but as it turns out I actually have the coolest ride in history. Just sayin... Thanks for the help guys! |
