check out my new ride! '88 schwinn prologue TT Bike!

specs: shimano tricolor rear mech, campy crankset (has strada written on the back, is that the model?) ,and campy brakes ,ritchy stem(im gonna swiotch that out), ayara super hard anodized front rim with bladed spokes and a hub that has specialized written on it but it looks like campy. Tange prestige frame, 105 brake levers and dt shifters, like new paint, came with some extras: look clipless, campy front mech(loks like record, pics later) and a dura ace rear hub and casset.

i'd say. the crankset alone would cover the $100 cost, easy.

I recently purchased a non-TT '88 Prologue built up with period correct 600 and DA components for 3 times that much and I consider that to be a deal. Pics of the bike overall??

I have two 1987 Prologue road bikes. Would have loved to get either at that price. +1 One part or two will pay for this one.

I see the Prologue funny bikes on ebay at relatively high prices, don't know if they are selling or not. A niche bike for sure. Double check the date code on the head badge, Schwinn made these bikes for three years (actually, Panasonic made them of course).

sounds like a great score. do we get to see the whole bike? why are you switching out the Campi brake calipers? give me a shout before you toss those worthless dangerous single pivot calipers in the trash.

I believe the 'Strada' on the back of the crank arms simply means race or road. NR and SR cranksets were very simialr and the difference wil be what the chainwheels looked like.

I think he was going to switch the Ritchey stem out, buy yeah, if you do have to dispose of the brakes, I'd take those off your hands as well, saving you the trouble of putting them in the garbage bin. Might even pay shipping.

NR/SR are identical save for the chainrings, and that is what his looks like. Can't see the chainrings to tell which they are though.

so the history: the guy i bought it from was original owner, it was given to gim by schwinn when he was sponored by them in the late 80's or early 90's, never had a font mech installed because he did not change front rings in TT's, raced 3 times and placed in 2 of them. then hung up in the garage

LOL. Seriously, that thing looks like torture.

That bike would get stolen in five minutes here in San Francisco if you had it locked up with anything less than an armed guard. The hipsters go ape s*** for them. I, however, respect it in its true respect: one of the coolest TT bikes around! Very nice find and I'm jealous.

I never seem to find good deals
