My frankenbike is a low-end Lotus America. It was one time where I actually knew what I wanted to build and saw it all the way through without changing plans. It's also the ugly brother to Southpawboston's very nice Shogun.

here's a mild frankenbike i just redid. started as a shogun loaded tourer which didn't fit me quite right, so i swapped out the bars for nitto A-bars, added a wald basket and a child seat, and it ended up as an upright grocery and kid hauler which has turned into my daily rider:

Here's one
Built on a Phillips 3 speed frame cleaned up and shellaced
Specialized 5 speed hubs on MA40 rims with and Conti touring 700x32 tires
TA crankset 46x36 with a sugino BB and new Shimano flipflop pedals
Shimano 600 RD, Deore XT front and Universal 68 sidepulls
I recently added a 80's MTB bars, stem, levers and shifters
the ziptie cable clamps finish off the ensemble.
Great in town, great in the mountains and fast.
I love it.

Bicycle Repair Man !!!
Almost all my bikes are Frankenbikes as most were built up from spare parts...
Most recently... 1988 Kuwahara Shasta that was a fixed gear and is now running a 1964 AWG hub and is a collection of odd bits I had kicking around.
I love it.

'71 Columbia Sports III
Smaller-geared Diamondback crank off of the Giant I used to ride.
Massive Cloud 9 saddle attached by flipping the original seatpost upside-down and adding a soda cam shim. (seat rails are way too wide for the original clamp)
Handlebar mount water bottle

This was posted in SSFG, as well. '74 Favorit frame, fork and seat post with the stem, crankset and front brake from a '76 Nishiki Custom Sport. The stem mounted Dia Compe brake lever was altered by removing the main lever, leaving the extension lever to apply the brake. The saddle and pedals are from my GutTerBall, the wheelset was pulled from a Masi at the LBS.

I might win for most hideous looking Frankenbike, although I don't think the pictures do it justice.
I picked this up yesterday at the bike co-op for $50. I was wanting to make something like it, and I found one already made. One LBS actually sells them for $200. It's a Schwinn Varsity Frame, with 26" alloy MTB wheels and a J.C. Higgins 3-speed hub.
My plans are to get a new shifter (Current one has issues with 2nd gear), a new seat and seatpost(Seatpost clamp is overtightened and damaged seat and post) and North Road bars, then get fenders, rack, and baskets for it. I want something that can carry a decent amount, without adding a bunch of heavy stuff to my GT.

Missed this one!
I ride a 57 to a 58 cm.
I did some fliers a few weeks ago in the neighborhood. You know, the "do you have any old bikes in your garage that you want to get rid of" flier. Our neighbor offered me four bikes, two Lotuses, a Shogun, and a very nice Raleigh Competition. I purchased the lot a week ago and have already sold the Raleigh to a forum member at RBR, and the Lotuses are getting picked up tomorrow as well. I'm keeping the Shogun touring bike, which is cream and dark blue for a grocery/porteur project. This means my trusty green 1969 Schwinn Racer will be hitting the CL locally when the snow melts.

1970's Kobe frame, newer aluminium fork, Ultegra 6600 external bearing crankset, 1990's 105 RD, original Suntour SL FD, Original (?) 27" Suzue/Mavic front wheel, 700c 9-speed Shimano back wheel, new(ish) 8 speed (in friction mode) bar end shifters, original SR stem. Pretty Frankenstein if you ask me, but I love it. Also, cat.

My frankenbike is in progress. The opposite of lipstick on a pig. I start with a beauty and then use a mismash of parts.
There's a current thread with lots of photos. 1963 Hetchins Mountain King - a progress report.
YES, the F**king brake cables are too long, too. And the crank looks like it'll be swapped out for a triple.

A current non-C&V project that's all Frankenbike.
A 2003 Trek 1000 frameset I picked up off CL, then the parts gathering began. Wheels are off a Specialized Allez something, Nashbar 8-spd cassette, Shimano 105 Octalink BB, black DP brakes, 10-spd FD. Shimano 9-spd Ultegra RD. Cannondale EX road crank. Shimano PD-6402 Look pedals, Selle San Marco Ponza LUX saddle on an American Classic seatpost. Cannondale stem, Profile bars, Tektro black brake levers. It needs dark red cable housing. Then I can mount a set of Ultegra 8-spd bar-ends.

edit:
It was finished Fall 2011. I got to ride it a dozen times before my personal crisis struck. I will probably not see it again, the ex wife claimed it was a gift to her son and has refused to give me back any of my bikes or tools.

I bought a Centurion frame to use the components off my Raleigh Competition because it had a crack on the seat post bolt. Then I got into triathlons. Then I thought gee I have all these parts lying around (some from a Fuji touring IV which I "upraded") so I juryrigged another seatpost clamp on the competition frame and made a singlespeed.
Don't hate me.

OK mines pretty close to done finally
started out: the most rusted out version of a mid-90s fuji foldable bike possible....
Stripped off ~20lbs of crap to expose a funky 7lb chromo frame
-- then added the parts to make it fit a 6'1 rider and be zippy in urban traffic &
-- bulletproof enough to sit on the front of a bus for an all-weather commute of 50miles a day
Sanded down another 1.5ish lbs of misc metal and added little bit of powder... and we're done! the ultimate franken-folder urban commute assault vehicle.
Just gotta replace the saddle to something a little more sporty.

My Frankenbike, but as it is Italian...I think...I should call it a Frankenetti! Theoretically a Torpado...late 60's early 70's....bottom end. Weinmann Concave rims, HF Hubs (french), Campy FD RD, Sugino Crank, Suntour Barcons, Mafac brake calipers, Suntour Superbe levers, Avocet touring saddle, ITALMANUBRI Europa Super Racing Alloy drops
