Vintage ride in Westchester, NY Sunday, Sept 19

I will be riding some old Italian iron on the Bronx River Parkway with several other lugged-frame folks (whose bike collections, knowledge & enthusiasm are an inspiration) on Sunday, September 19. We will leave from the Scarsdale Road entrance in Tuckahoe, the south end of the closed-to-cars section at 10:30 AM, head north to the County Center, take the bike path from the CC parking lot to Kensico Dam, and then to Valhalla for lunch. We'll return the same way. The round trip is a little better than 20 miles and the pace will be leisurely (for some of us, at least). All are welcome to join us. A nice thing about this ride is that it is car-free for all but a bare minute's transit from Kensico to Valhalla. There are only a few gentle hills, so it is a great ride for fixed-gear bikes.

To recap: Sunday, 9/19, 10:30AM, Scarsdale Rd & BRP northbound in Tuckahoe, NY, north to Valhalla & back before 2:00, 20+ miles total

Rain will cancel the ride, but the forecast for now is beautiful.

If you need any more information, please email me at euromeccanicany@yahoo.com
Come out, show off & exercise your old, beautiful bike!

Just moving this post up the queue. There will be a number of jaw-dropping bikes (including a Paramount tandem!) showing up. Bring your bling & expect to see some serious rides! Or sick, as you young whippersnappers like to say. (What the hell is a whippersnapper, anyway?) Need more incentive? Email me at euromeccanicany@yahoo.com for additional cajoling, info, etc.
