A little help with bike flipping.....
i've been flipping bikes more often lately, and well i noticed how pricy some things can be...
so i'm wondering if you guys know cheap websites or places where i can get road bike tires cheap, and lots of cable housing for cheap, maybe somewhere sells it cheaply in rolls?
or if you guys know sites that have really cheap parts overall that would be great.
I'm trying to keep costs down in the flips...
thanks!

Galvanized cable + housing at pricepoint 10 for $18. I forget where I got my last big bunch of ferules, AE Bike or Niagara, one of those.
Pricepoint has good deals on Cheng Shin tubes by the 5-pack also, I think around $2 apiece.
JensonUSA has cork style bar tape for $5 per pair of rolls.
Nashbar has Hutchison road tires for $10 apiece at the moment. Someone mentioned some $10 Serfas Secas, I can't remember where, tho.

The best I could do for inexpensive tires was the Performance house brand. Normally $14.99, they go on sale periodically for $9.99. Two days ago I had a 20% coupon, so that made them $7.99 But they are all black, not tan or skin wall.

Cheap tires are easy enough, but I seem to have a knack for finding bikes that need saddles. Even so-so saddles from Ebay or the used bin at the LBS wind up being $20 or $30.
Anyone have a source for saddles that aren't utter junk and don't break the bank?

Cheepest tan wall 700 I know of is Paselas on Amazon for $21.23. Unless you're needing tubulars, then yellowjersey.org has them 3/$50.

Cheap saddles are tough to come by. It must've been 2001 or so when pricepoint had the really cheap SDGs. Next time I find good new saddles for $10 or less, I'm buying a case!
I hit up the swap meet a couple weeks ago and found a guy with a $1/saddle box. Not too bad a shape.

Last time I was at a bike show with lightweights, the show had provided those stands, and everyone was using them - except me. I had brought my own chainstay stands Guess who wasn't keeping his bikes from falling during the show? Yours truly.
Granted, I would have preferred crankarm stands like wrk101's, but I can't find them at Niagara.

I own a two-legged stand I purchased from eBay a while back. I think it's made by Persons. The construction is fine. The design itself is to blame.
Where do you get your chain stay stands, Kurt? I'd like to have one of those.

I got mine from Nashbar, though they have a penchant for bending - and they don't necessarily keep the bike bolt upright without fiddling with the stand position. That's why I'd like to get some crankarm stands.

Even a high end bike will sell just as fast with lesser tires, as long as they're new. You won't get your money back on the expensive tires, and they don't help sell the bike.

Ahhh, Canada. That might harsh out your shipping a bit. Wait 'til you need a little more stuff and drive there. I'm guessing you're somewhere near Toronto by your username.

did you tell them to "hose-off you hosers".
Yea, I'd suspect it's the cross border dealio.
I have a decent sized order due this afternoon from Niagara, $13.56 for 3-Day UPS Ground, and thats Niagara Falls to San Diego.
I've found Niagara usually has the best prices. Just have to be patient though, they seem to take awhile to put my orders together. This last order I put in on the 15th and it only shipped on this past Tuesday.
Biketiresdirect has the best selection of tires that i've seen at reasonable prices for mid to higher end tires, probably not what you really want for flipping. Their prices on other parts is a little higher than Niagara but not much, again though they don't carry cheaper low end stuff. But they typically get the orders out the door same day or next.
By the way i'm not a flipper, just a hoarder.

you guys should see how many bikes i fit inside my igloo, and when i'm not fixing bikes i'm playing hockey or eating candian bacon somewhere....
wow 13 bucks for shipping, i know in the states shiping is so rediculously cheap, when you do that cross border stuff then $$$'s get tacked on, i know cause i used to sell so much stuff on ebay, none bike related stuff, but my packages were like 50lbs and about 30x30x15, shipping was rediculous
anyways yes i do live in toronto, unfortunately i don't have access to a major supplier like damco cause i'm not a bike store, so i gotta find a way to find parts cheap, maybe i will drive down to niagara cycle one day, but i hope i don't get dinged for customs on the way back
