I'm setting up at a local bike swap/ flea market this Saturday and I'd like to know what would be the best bikes to take.
1) Cannondale R400 48cm rx-100 group
2) Fuji Allegro 52cm Suntour AR group
3) Bridgestone 200 63cm Suntour AR group
4) Raleigh Sports 21" 1973 in very good original shape including OG tires
5) Raleigh Record mid 80's 58cm low end Shimano components
6) 86 Trek Elance 400 T 56cm Shimano light action

The Trek I'm not sure I want to sell, but cash would be good so....

All bikes are in good rideable condition pretty much needing nothing except a new owner. Paint is shiny and nice on all bikes and tires are new on 3 0f the 6. I can fit about 3 maybe 4 bikes into my space with JYB, the weather is looking great for the sale so maybe we can spread out a little, but I do not want to hog the spot. I'm turning to you guys (and girls) to advise me on what to take. Thanks!

One of the most obvious choices is the 48cm Cannondale, or the 63cm Bridgestone. They can't both fit you.

dude its gonna be an awesome mass of bikes...I've got 2 complete ones plus like 3 framesets, some components (suntour A3000 stuff, i'm not entirely sure either yet) a box of random crapola and my bike bags.

Bring it all. (as long as that's cool with JYB)

We'll be like the life of the flea market. Nothing draws a crowd like a bunch of bikes.

I agree with Zaph, let's pack the space! I'm bringing 2 bikes and a table's worth of parts. If we run out of space, we can build a bike pyramid.

Both are going, I think what I meant with my original question was; What do you think will sell better? I hate dragging stuff out and taking it home. If I drag it out, I really want it gone

I wouldn't hesitate to sell #5 for not-a-lot of money. You'd be better off with a nicer bike.

#3 will sell to that crowd. A Bridgestone will sell no matter what kind it is.

The Trek Elance Touring version is such a nice bike - It will draw looks if not buyers depending on the price.
(Pretty much everything will hinge on price regardless of what you bring along. )

- Zaphods' plan can't fail if you are really determined to unload them" ""I will trade you this bike for a hot dog"" - but I'm not sure I'd go THAT far.

Aside, I think anything branded Raleigh or Bridgestone will garner interest too.

As Zaph said, bring 'em all. If you leave 1 or 2 home, and don't sell 1 or 2 at the swap, you'll be second guessing your decision. You really don't know who will be there or what exactly they'll be looking for, and each of your bikes is a different size, so you'll attract a pretty good range of buyers. If anything, leave the 58cm home, because one of my bikes is that size (kidding, mine is a modern Trek, so they are completely apples to oranges).

Also, as Auchen points out, the price you ask will determine what sells and how fast.

Velodrome?

I'll be setting up there for the first time this year. Looking forward to it! I'm bringing a lot of little bikes (Kids bikes and folders) along with a couple big ones. All vintage stuff.

I'd like to see the Raleigh Sports you're bringing.

i dunno, but i feel like parts sell better than whole bikes there. I walked around with a mint condition all original dutch built raleigh grand prix with a for sale sign of $50 or something a few years ago and ended up selling it at the last minute before i was leaving to some 14 year old kid for like $20. It was no Colnago, I'm just saying I think most people go to trexlertown for parts rather than entire bikes. But what do I know.

I might be there but I'm not sure yet. I really need to unload some stuff myself but I just have had no time to get everything together.

If any of you guys see any Carlton's Flyers or Professionals in a 63ish, or a mink raliegh pro please buy it for me

oh and i reallly need a darn super long 27.2 seat post to hopefully get a dent out of the seat tube on my international...

Parts always do well at swap meets. I've been setting up at the classic/antique bike show for 19 years now and parts sell for premium prices while you almost have to give entire bikes away unless they are something super rare, valuable, or clean.

I sold a set of wheels off of a bike for $100 that I couldn't get $75 for the whole thing the year before.

This year, the shows are back to back so if anybody is interested in the old bike show it is Sunday October 3rd at the fire company behind the Velodrome.

I've always wanted to go to the old bike show at the fire company...Its just that it would require me to either drive down twice in one weekend or make a weekend out of it and stay somewhere in the area.

That fire company is infinitely friendly....I park in their back lot behind the velodrome for the swaps and just walk around...nobodys ever back there and the dudes at the Fire Co. don't mind. I might spend friday night back there

Where are we meeting Sat morning? I'll be driving a bright green Ford (older) F150 (its a retired NJ DOT truck) w/ a Jersey plate up front.

I'm bringing Mrs. Kingsting along so I got a hotel for Saturday night. The old bike show is pretty big and some unusual things (and people) always show up there. It's a good time for sure!

Vendors for the antique show start rolling in on Saturday afternoon. They were tossing frisbees and lawn Jarts around last time I went up early. It's a big social event as well as a swap meet. The fire company is nice enough to leave the bathrooms unlocked for us from Saturday until the show ends late Sunday.
For all the Velodrome overnighters, stay off of the grounds of the gun club. I've heard that they're not too receptive to campers in their field.

I'll be in an Off-White Mini Cooper Clubman (the one with the double rear doors) with Jersey Tags and bikes on the roof.

Not sure where we should meet up.

The gun club fields are adjacent to the grass parking for the Velodrome, separated by a treeline.

My co-worker has a pepper white Clubbie too. I have a (original) 1972 Clubman myself...

The registration window is to the right of the velodrome's main entrance, and that's usually where I bring my stuff through. There's a small 'side lot' parking area right there. What I would describe as the 'main' parking area in front of the main entrance makes the portage a bit farther. I'm not sure what other gates are open for loading.

I'll be driving a green Subara Legacy wagon with Jersey plates, but I've got Dan's number and probably still have Rob's somewhere in my phone's address book.
