Identify my Pinarello!

Hey all, I got this Pinarello about 8 years ago on Ebay for $350... It was basically stripped of its original parts and replaced with crap, so i upgraded it all to new 105/ultegra as it was my main road bike for years. I have always assumed that it was an 84 Asolo, but I just say a photo of Pedro Delgado riding one, and it had the full rear triangle chromed. This only has the two chain stays and the crown of the fork chromed... It is all original paint.

What do you think?

I just got one very similar to yours. I assumed mine was a Treviso from the early 80's. The only thing that didn't match was that the Trevisos I have seen from that era had only one chrome chainstay. Mine, as yours, has both chromed. The decals are not original on mine but the paint I'm pretty sure is.

I'd guess Record:

guicho's is likely older than 85.

Yup, looks pretty similar, but the Fork has a differnt crown... What does the fork on your Record look like? It maybe from earlier in the 80's, there is a decal on the seat post stating that winners of 1981 giro d' italia and 2 other races rode pinarellos.

Yeah, the flat crown fork on guicho's makes me think older than 85, it looks like your fork is the same as guicho's hard for me to tell on this monitor, tho.

My fork looks just like the catalog pic I linked.

My frame and fork dropouts are Campagnolo.

If your drive side rear dropout has an extra hole in it, that's for a certain derailer system and will link it to a couple-year span when that was used. Sorry, I forget the details on that.

In the 89 catalog they have Pinarello dropouts, I thought they had changed earlier. Your fork seems pre 85.
