I guess I'm a "Retrohoarder" now.....
After having a hard time trying to find and snag some retrofrictions earleir this year, I ended up getting these three sets when the number of shifters increased and the prices went down from the highs that reached very close to a hundred dollars this summer for a nice set.
Yes,........ I ended up getting those black Mavics recently at ebay.......just...couldn't....resist!.... Paid a highish price for them, but I guess I'm a retrofricion addict!
So I have two spares for my two bikes and one extra for that still elusive Gitane or Peugeot dream buildup.
Had to change out the mounting bolts and finishing washers on the silver one because the originals had the chrome flaking off already and corrosion was setting in and the tigfhtening slots were kinda beat up. I found out the the nice stainless allen head bolts and stainless #12 finishing washers in the local hardware I frequent fits perfectly and even better, size-wise, than the original ones. Liked them so much thatI bought a couple of spares for the others too.
