Questions about a Bianchi sport sx

Going to look at what the seller thinks is a 90ish Bianchi sport sx. Does anyone know what components and rims I should expect to find on this bike? I haven't been able to find brochures online. Any info would be great, I'd like to make sure most of the parts are original.

Thanks

Couple other questions? Was the frame still lugged in the early 90's? From the pictures it looks to be original and in good shape, but they are not the best pictures. It is the correct size for me. I can get it for $200, just trying to decide if it's a good deal or not.

I have had a few of these guys pass through The Old Shed. Nice enough bicycles with a decent ride, but nothing that will shake the ground. If the bike is in good shape, $200.00 is not unreasonable, in my opinion.

Suntour transmission, quick release hubs, Araya 700c rims, DiaComp brakes and the rest I can't recall.

Good luck.

WOW that is a pretty '87 Sport SX. I loved my black one and can't seem to get around to a resto projct on it.

as for other models, I think '89 was the last year but they were certainly lugged. both '88 and '89 had shimano drive trains but IIRC the '89 was a bi nicer with the Sport LX package.

like Randy said great basic bikes with lugged frames but nothing super. what color is the one your looking at?

It's blue. I decided to pass on it. Not exactly what I am looking for so I figured I'd keep looking. Thanks for the info.

MY '87 Sport SX had Suntour Alpha 5000 drivetrain, Araya rims, Sansin hubs. I can look for the brakes if you would like.

Here's the link. The pictures are bad, can barely make any decals out on the bike.

I didn't go look at it so I can't confirm anything. The seller does not know much about it so I'm sure they could have the year and model wrong. Is the SS a higher or lower model than the SX?

SS would have been about the same level but older and not have an indexed drivetrain

Hi Jett. I don't know if your still looking at this but I did finally remember to check it out. it is a an '86 and has a Shimano 525 SIS drive train. I think if the seller still has it perhaps he mioght be willing to negociate the price a bit.
