I got a free Raleigh International off CL this morning!!!

The guy was really nice, just look at all these great high resolution pictures I took. He said he'd gotten like 12 other calls while I was on my way over to pick it up. It's just my size and my favorite color.

Ha! made you look.:roflmao2:

bs, because I have it.

USAZorro 11-05-10 07:56 PM

Nice score, holiday.

JunkYardBike 11-05-10 07:57 PM

Yes, my heart did stop momentarily when I saw the thread title. But the seller didn't list his phone number in the ad, so he didn't receive any calls. ;)

- They must be a glut on the market - and too many cluttering up people's garages, and taking valuable space for the new snow blower.

not unless you own a plane, helicopter, or that thing Dr Who got around in. Plus it's right here with me.

My International's tubing is larger on the inside than the outside.

well, if it will make you feel any better, you can buy mine. It's your size. It's got a small dent in the seat tube I mostly got out since the pics, and it's missing the brooks pro, but the rest is original.

Pm me for more details if you're interested.

You're hurting me to the quick. I'd gladly trade my craptastic Professonal for any one of these Internationals...

That looks too big for me...what is it, a 62cm (25")? And is it free? ;)

it's free but it will cost several hundred or so dollars if you want to touch it.

I think it's a 24.5". I thought that was in your range but maybe I'm thinking of somebody else.

Good. You can drive it up here and hang it on a hook in my basement so I don't have to touch it. 24" is about my max, and I'm trending downward in size lately.

Ivandarken 11-05-10 09:48 PM

Actually, if I may.... I have it!

I've been looking for a good project bike. I figured since it was free, I didn't feel awkward about streamlining it a bit. I cut off those awful tube bumps and that funny thing that held the derailleur on. Won't need it for a single speed and it's so ugly. Anybody need a saddle? I put on a gel seat and don't need this old Brooks Professional saddle. Yuk.

randyjawa 11-06-10 03:11 AM

Yup, I got a free one also. Sadly, and as usual, the bike was way to big for me. Have a peek at my 1973 Raleigh International that now lives in Hawaii.

Actually, I offer the fellow money for the bike but he refused. I ended up stuffing twenty dollars in his shirt pocket to cover the cost of lunch. He didn't even want that money but insisted that I take an old Peugeot "Sprint" while I was there.

What is it about free Raleigh Internationals that I don't like?
