Gazelle CM_A 1981 what bar tape to use.
I have a simple q'n regarding the original bar tape for my Gazelle CM model A from 80 or 81 (it has the butterfly brakeplate.
I want to know what was the original bartape that this model of from this period was being sold with.
I think it could be the Benotto tape, the cloth type one or bike ribbon.
I don't want to know what i could use, but what was authentic to use for this model/period.
I want to bring it back in authentic condition and can't find a good answer anywhere so i hope someone here will be able to help me with this simple, but for me important q'n.

Unique Vintage Steel
I have a 1983 Catalog at home (and I think there's a copy of one floating around online as well), I'll take a close look and see if I can tell what type of tape is in the photo. However, a lot of Gazelle frames were sold as framesets, which means any bar tape that was produced at the time was likely fair game for 'original' build. I vote you to with what you like and what is fitting for the frame.

A couple brochures were already present on Jan's Gazelle Pages >> https://www.fivenineclimber.com/bikes...elle_pages.htm
...and today a fellow Retrobike member posted the 80, 81, 83, 84, 86, 88, 89 & 91 brochures >> https://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/vie...=921211#921211

Thanks everybody for your advice and help (links).
I downloaded all the brochures and it is wonderfull and a beautifull gesture to do so.
I think from looking at the pix i can narrow it down to either the oldstyle cloth type or indeed bikeribbon.
And yes i know these where sold as frameset and there anything would be ok from that period my goal is to know exactly ..
Thanks again for the help
