I have mixed emotions about DST. The older I am the harder it is to adjust--- in either direction. Someday I hope to live in a state which does not observe DST, like AZ or IN.

But I decided to take my last ride in DST during 2010 this afternoon. It was supposed to be sunny and in the mid '40s. But as it turned out it was overcast and about 37F. I took the '88 Cannondale Touring and stopped for a few pictures along the way. I did about 26 miles between 3:30-5:00. Tomorrow it will be pitch black by 5:00.

Just got back from a 65 mile jaunt. Was planning on 60 miles tomorrow as well, but they say a storm will be upon us shortly....

Did the normal Saturday morning ride with the club. 40 degrees with light (and later steady) winds, but thankfully completely clear skies here to start. Ended up having to cut the ride short due to a lengthy delay after a crash which took two riders out - one fairly seriously with two broke wrists per the last status update I heard.

Nope, no ride today. Cold and rain in the morning, and just felt like chilling out in the afternoon. Besides, I picked up a dual sus, MTB at an estate sale an that took up my biking time.

I rode my Gitane TdF yesterday after work. I was a still and sunny 75 degrees at the beach, the temptation was just too much to resist. Yesterday was the kind of day we did not have much of this summer.

Today, I had to work.

Wasn't it the old folks union that lobbied for DST?
Like the pictures. I miss that neighborhood. I'll go out tonight after I get the dishes done. I'll get the dishes done when I manage to pull myself away from BF C+V. I have a 3 or 4 mile loop through the neighborhood on the back roads without too many cars. Sometimes I head up through the Mexican neighborhood on a Friday or Saturday night, Everyone's out walking and there's music and the smell of Mexican food coming from every window. Well, at least when it's warm enough to have the windows open.
I usually ride at night when the kids are asleep and rush hour has died away, even in the summer. I'm a big fan of the warm summer nights.

24.5 miles... the long way from Durham to Portsmouth NH, plus some detours to avoid traffic. They closed the bridge that would make it a 10 mile straight line trip through May

I don't ride in the dark during the summer, but my winter bike has active lighting for this reason. Being on the leeward edge of the EST time zone helps a little too.

Ben, I know the farmers never wanted DST. This is the prime reason they don't have it in IN. I'm not certain why AZ doesn't use DST. I had always heard it was for school children not waiting for the bus in the morning in the dark. If you have ever lived in the far western part of a time zone, you know this reason does not hold any water.

I know, I know! So why does AZ not observe DST?

Call the office of our new Senator and your new Congressman, maybe they can get it re-opened?

I timed and scored a 5K/10K, and was thankful my hard-core running days are behind me. I'll adjust to DST like I always do, get up an hour early and try to be productive i 30 minutes of it.

My church is savvy; they start an hour early tomorrow.
I teach 4th/5th boys in Sunday School, and we'll probably blow something up or destroy some kind of property an hour earlier than usual.
That's the plan, anyway.

40-something when I took off late this morning. Rode about ten miles of rolling hills, down into river bottom country and then about thirty miles of blissful flats. There was a headwind for much of the way, but I was on my Freschi and my legs were fresh after a week of short rides between end of work and nightfall (urgh!) and the miles passed in quiet serenity. Somewhere along the way the temperature flirted with 60 and my wind jacket disappeared from my shoulders and found its way to my waist. A few more hills at the end of the ride and then i was home and still feeling strong and wanting to be outside, so the wife and I took a ride around town; I switched bikes and got onto my winter-build for another shakedown ride. It's dark now and I'm wishing I'd already installed my new lighting system: I'm only grudgingly conceding that the weather and light are changing.

It was sunny but pretty chilly here in Calgary - I did get on the bike to ride over to the coffee house to meet up with some friends. It is supposed to be nicer tomorrow, so I will try to get out and enjoy it before winter sets in here.

Got out for a test ride on my new frame-set. It was a blast! Probably only put on a couple miles before I called it a day after a little accident that resulted in a bent brake caliper. It was still a good time, though.

You crazy old guys! My place Never even hits 68! It's usually between 73-75. When I'm in my own home I want to relax and work on my bike in just shorts, or even just my boxers, not sit around all cramped up and restrained in a coat!

If nothing else, my girlfriend and my spider would prefer it were 80.

My Wife and I took our bikes out for a couple of hours today. Started out cold with light rain, ended up warm with some sushine
