Mafac Gold

I'm building a bike with a Mafac Gold brakeset and drilled gold mafac levers, as well as some other goodies. Anyway, what vintage bikes came with the gold mafac stuff? Or how about the gold simplex stuff. Anyone have any pictures?

I have the Gold Mafacs on a custom Dutch bike, CERA. It was also equipped with gold anodized Super Champion rims. Great looking stuff.

I'm pretty sure Peugeots came with a gold anodized group. Late 70's and early 80's. I remember going into Wastyns bike shop in Chicago and seeing Peugeots with the drilled chainrings, Mafac 2000 brakes, Ideale saddles, and thinking this stuff is a lot cooler than Campy. Bernard Thevanet winning the tour on a Peugeot kinda boosted the rep of the french component manufacturers for a while.

I have a Mercier. The bikes not in great shape, but the golds held out well.

That rear derailer is hanging at an odd angle.

Our shop had a metallic light green St. Etienne with a full gold group around 1975. I really didn't much like it back then...
