Eddy Merckx serial number data site

I just came across this site and thought it might be useful to some of you and worth a link.

Thanks, but old news. He used to be a member here, back when the site was better

How dare you Sir impugn the integrity of the new and improved C&V. You must be one of those stick-in-the mud types that stand in the way of progress.

Nope, just liked it better when there was more fact and less opinion.

Ironic that his post is a reference to a factual website, eh? And how dare he share something he thinks others may be interested in, including those who may not be aware of it. I suppose that's yet another sign of the new, vapid BF C&V.

Actually, It's a great site that hasn't been updated in years (as far as the Merckx data base), but whose existence is as close as a Google search away. http://www.google.com/#hl=en&expIds=...fa48930cd2b7df

My comment was more directed to the general direction this forum has taken in the past couple of years, not to the labor Jeremy put into his great site.

Yes, I'm a curmudgeon, and a bit of a cynic. There is an ignore feature if you dont like my comments.

I didnít mean to spark a tiff between titans; this was just a quick post with a link to info that might be useful to some. Iíve used the C&V search engine often, and would have appreciated such a link. Although I expected it to die quickly, I couldnít help myself from posting the tongue-in-cheek response. I agree, however; C&V has become tedious and less about bikes and more about personalities, thus my signature. Perhaps by Xmas.

It depends which threads you choose to read. I've been here since summer of 2006, and it really hasn't changed much, besides the software update.

There are some folks missing though, that really pulled me into the forum such as Caterham, Easthill, and a few others.

They knew/know so much about bikes I am interested in, I was in awe.

Otherwise, I don't read most of the threads nowadays.

I won't use my time reading about bikes that are marginally interesting.

.....and Rothenfield 1, I wish you luck with 1,000.

I said the same thing and here I am.

The former member who is responsible for Cadre was a tremendous help to me with my Merckx...which didn't seem to conform to the serial number information I could find at the time.

Is that because it is a team issue frame? I am curious because I have something very special coming my way soon and I'll eventually want to confirm it's authenticity.

That is why...I think I have the contacts I used to verify things when you're ready. PM me if you could use them.

Thanks, I will. Mine is an "F" series which I believe is a team issue frame.
