Conti racing bike
I bought this on craigslist some months back. The paint is in poor shape, but it rides great. I gave it to my daughter, 18 years old, and brought it to her in college in Olympia, WA.
The pictures are bad, and it's hard to tell that the fork is fully chromed.
I riveted a bike chain through the seat rails and seat stays to prevent seat theft. The chain is covered with an inner tube.
I put on a big freewheel so she can conquer any hill, along with a classic Campagnolo Rally derailleur to handle the gears. It came with a low-end Campagnolo derailleur. The rest of the parts on the bike are low- to mid-level Italian brands.
Tires are mismatched models of Panaracer tire: Pasela in rear and Stradius in front.
PowerGrips on pedals.

that's a brand that in later years was a 'sister' brand with Ciocc and Concorde(Italian)...but apparently all were the product of a contract-builder such as Billato. This seems to be an earlier example...any clues as to the tubing or exact place in Italy where it was built?

There is a tubing sticker, but it's illegible because of scratches.

I noticed that there is a QR seatpost clamp on the bike. Could those put too much pressure on the seat lug clamp and possibly damage it as these older frames were never really designed for such?
Pretty nice for a college bike.........could be too tempting for college campus bike theives, maybe? Hopefully she has good/safe places to park it over there.

Yeah, I put that QR clamp on for her so she could make adjustments easily. And that necessitated the anti-theft device for the seat.
Thanks for the warning about bending the ears. I'll pass it on to her.
I repeatedly offered her more utilitarian bikes. I even offered to send her two bikes. But this was all she wanted.
Honestly, she doesn't ride much. I think she's ridden once or twice since she got there in late September. I'm hoping that increases.
