Need help with replacement parts for Peugeot UO-8

I recently found an old Peugeot UO-8 from a local in Charlotte. Needless to say some parts were in need of replacement. I bought an updated Simplex rear derailleur but the front derailleur I need help of a more modern derailleur that is compatible with the double crank 10 speed. Thanks in advance.

Almost any front derailleur should be workable, I've got a 1972 Peugeot Ao8 that has a Shimano front on it and it works great.

Anything else you're looking for?

All you need to be sure of is that the front derailleur you buy has the correct clamp size the UO-8's seat tube. I recommend looking on your local Craigslist as you're going to want something that is for friction shifting as opposed to modern/indexed shifting. Just get what you can find for under $20 -- any more than $10 and I'd be surprised.

If you have or going to keep the old Simplex shifter levers, you are going to need new French derailleur cables with the narrow barrel tips. Velo-Orange has them for $2.50 each. Otherwise you're going to need new levers or to break out the Dremmel hand grinder to reshape the cable tips to fit.

I bought new Shimano stem shifters. It has new cables so I was assuming that it is compatible with it.
