Raleigh Super Grand Sport

I was at the store yesterday and out front was a Raleigh Super Grand Sport road bike Id say 80s Never seen one before. The frame was black metal flake The rear triangle joined at the rear brake and one tube to the seat stay like a mtn bike. The owner came out and looked at me like I was some nut case. I asked him if it was a mtn bike at one time no its always been like this. And road off.He had no time for me. Have any of you folks ever seen one

In the late 70's Raleigh had a road bike called the Super Gran Prix but I've seen nothing about a Super Grand Sport.

For Canada, all bets are off, Raleigh Canada did their own thing quite often.

You guys are right. When I looked at the replies this morning it jumped out at me I gave you folks the wrong name. Jes I wouldnt of thought it was from the 70s it was mint and that black metal flake I love black bikes. And the rear triangle with the single post never seen that before. And for sure entry level...Ay but what do I know I couldnt get the name right. Made in Canada ?

I have owned both Raleigh Super Record and Super Grand Prix, Canadian made bicycles. They are nothing special. In fact, based on the few I have owned, I would have to say that the quality of construction is very poor.

But that is just my opinion.
