austro daimler SL
Hi folks
i have an austro daimler SL, but i can't find a headset for it, the diameter is 26mm, looked on sheldon brown, an its an austrian size headset, but no where sells them,
i have checked on www.ebay.at (austria) but haven't had any luck
theres a guy on called puchultima, who seems to know a lot about these bikes.
any ideas where i could get myself a headset for it?
many thanks
matt

I would have thought they were regular British/English thread. the 26.0mm I believe simply refers to the crown race on the fork. there is no headset on it now?

+1 my '76(ish) Austro Daimler Inter-10 uses a regular ISO/English headset.

ebay or the ISO thread here are probably your best bets. You'll probably need to find someone who crashed their bike and saved the headset as I don't think there was much of an aftermarket supply for these.

Dang!, I didn't even know they had "Austrian" sized components? What were they trying to do, be like the French or something?? Noooo nooo noo no monsieur! The French would have not liked to share their cyclo idiosyncratic spotlight!
I guess we're just lucky the Germans didn't try doing similar, knowing how the have a tendency to make things as complicated as possible on many things they made......
