Good deal on wheels?

I recently bought a nice Raleigh Technium 480 that I am converting to 700c wheels. I have been having a tough time finding anything that takes a thread on freewheel as I would like to keep my index shifting. I found a set of Araya wheels with Campagnolo Record rims that are the right spacing and take my freewheel on ebay. They also happen to be in my town so I wouldnt have to pay shipping. Since I'm probobly going to have a hard time finding wheels, should I pull the trigger on these for $120-125? Are they a decent deal for that price? The buyer says they are in mint condition and are true. Its more than I wanted to spend but I figure I can always keep them to use on my next bike if I ever end up selling this one. What do you guys think?

Not enough info.

I'm in PHX, and have a number of wheels I'm getting ready to unload. What are you looking for?

Take a look at these in eBay...I've been tempted too.

https://cgi.ebay.com/Sun-M13-Silver-S...ht_1779wt_1140
https://cgi.ebay.com/BIKE-WHEELS-PAIR...item588977e790

Also, some vintage sets.

https://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-ARAYA-SA...item230bd1e811
https://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-Wheelset...ht_1608wt_1140

Search for "126mm" and search descriptions...

Cheers.

Tusconrider - I assume you mean to say Record Hubs. They would be a good deal if you got them at that price. Good luck!

Are the wheels INVISIBLE???

If so, don't know if you should pull the trigger or not!!

Picture/link would help...

+1!

And Araya RIMS? Or did Araya make a complete wheelset? It gets confusing if we don't use the terminology correctly.

Sorry about the bad description. It was an Araya wheel and Campagnolo Record hub combo. It ended up going for $135 so I passed. But it looks like there are some great options out there. Thanks for all the help everyone.

Actually I dont have enough posts yet so my pm did not go through.

I am looking for something in decent shape in a set of 700c wheels that is compatible with a 6 spd thread on freewheel. I would like wheels that do not need a lot of truing and are a decently nice set of wheels. I am not looking to spend a fortune. I will be in PHX next week for thanksgiving. Let me know. Thanks

Just a guess but I imagine they'd be comparable to formulas or other entry-level hubs... I have a generic sealed bearing hubset from some online seller and it was similar quality parts as these wheels: stainless spokes, decent entry-level rims and a nice polished alloy hub that doesn't have a name on it. I can't beat the price of that wheelset from any of the LBS in town, in fact my most hated LBS charged me 200$ for something similar, but with modern alex rims and zinc spokes.

Sent you a PM with contact info. I have a set of Record hubs to nice tubulars and a set of Record hubs to Mavic Open 4 clinchers. The rear is tied and soldered on the Open 4's. Not cheap, but willing to deal with someone in my driveway w/cash.
