So tonight, my sister showed me the video for Eminem's "Love the way you lie" and all I could focus on was WTH the 3 speed leaning on the fence was...

Did you skip out on your daughter's wedding to go see a CL bike?
Did you buy your wife a derailleur for her Anniversary?
Did you miss work after becoming engrossed in a project bike?

Was watching an old episode of Hill Street Blues on Hulu the other day and had to back it up and look at a bike a second time, and paused it... then I had to back it up a little later to see what I'd missed of the show, while focusing on bikes.

Was late to work because the bike I wanted to ride had a derailer that worked fine, but clattered on two gears and bugged me
Have been known to wax philosophically to my students about my newest bike, while they all groan
Realizing work is 4 hours away, cannot go to bed until the stupid bike is back together (I can't stand having a bike in pieces - I think it's an OCD thing)
Will drive/bike around the block repeatedly just because I THOUGHT I might have seen a bike hiding behind a garage
Besides having to stop and look at the bikes whenever watching a movie.

Before C&V bikes there was the "other" addiction plagueing some within our national borders...
How many of us turn to garage sales, the "bike" section on Craig's List, or perhaps even the town dump for our next "fix"...or "fixie"?
Yeah, we b-a-d! Yeah, we b-a-d! Yeah, b-a-d!

My wife got me a shirt that was from some regional cycling event. It was a drawing of a cyclist. I loved it, but immediately when I got it, I exclaimed, "whoa, check out the detail! Campy deltas!"
She sighed.
She sighed.

My wife is already tired of me pointing out the C&V bikes in TV commercials, shows, and movies. In fact, there is a really nice one, too, from a local health insurer, showing three women riding bikes down the street in cold weather gear, while the announcer intones something like "It's ME time..." The point being, these women were choosing fitness in their free time. And the bikes were in the entire commercial!

It gets really bad here in NYC. There's at least 3 stripped or trashed C&V bike locked up on any given block not to mention the cyclists riding by on the street. My fiance laughs because I whip my head around for C&V bikes not girls in short skirts.
I'm still trying to figure out the vintage gold/bronze track bike that shows up for a second during a street shot in Home Alone 2.

It's bad enough that I'm no longer happy just trying to dig up my own bikes - I now keep a sign at the end of the driveway to get people to bring them to me.

Don't watch Beijing Bicycle either. I know the bikes are gaspipe crap, but watching the ending and what happens to it is heartbreaking (doubly so because it's of the fate of the bike).
A few of mine
1) watching King's Speech recently. During a walk in the park scene, couldn't help but notice the English 3 speeds with townie bars (and what I thought was an integrated headset) rolling by.
2) +1 on the girls on the bike
3) I tend to talk to people that have nice C&V bikes. Conversation rapidly gets frustrated if they don't know what they're riding, which happens a lot in a college town (most recently, found a beautiful chromed Pinarello...turned into a fixie).
